A Pennsylvania high school student’s prom didn’t exactly go as expected.
Aniya Wolf was kicked out of her dance because she chose to wear a suit instead of a dress. She isn’t transgender, but said she just didn’t want to wear anything girly for her big night.
“I told her that I had read the dress code that was given to the students and I didn’t think that it precluded her from wearing a suit,” Carolyn Wolf, Aniya’s mother said. “I said that this was very unfair particularly at the last minute. We had gone out and bought a nice suit. I think my daughter is beautiful in a suit!”
Wolf said a school official took her by the arm and said she was going to call police, so she left.
